Collecting fine art and antiques is often connected with the high life of jetsetters and the super-rich. But you don’t have to be a billionaire to start your own first collection.

The Affordable Art Fair, which is hitting Hong Kong for the fifth time this weekend, is unique in this way because all the objects are sold at a price between US$130 and US$13,000.

Even if you don’t plan to buy art, the fair is a great place to stroll from gallery to gallery – there are more than 100 – and just enjoy the beauty of the many pieces, as well as checking out other fellow art lovers.

Asia Times had a peek during Thursday’s private viewing.
