Oil prices gained on Tuesday as traders continue to expect the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries along with other leading producers to reach an agreement extending production cuts later this week.

West Texas Intermediate was up 0.7% to US$51.51 a barrel, while Brent Crude was up 0.6% to settle at US$54.2.
