An Indian Air Force Sukhoi SU-30 aircraft has gone missing, having lost radar contact over the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, the territory of which is claimed by China, reports Bloomberg.

Distinguished fellow at New Delhi-based Centre for Air Power Studies, Manmohan Bahadur said details indicated “that something catastrophic happened.” Bahadur disputed the suggestion that the age of the aircraft may have played a role in the incident. “This is a Sukhoi 30, so it is our latest.”
