A 45-year-old Filipino engineer was jailed for 10 weeks on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty in a Singapore court to eight counts of intruding on the privacy of a woman and one count of possessing obscene films.
At 7pm on May 22, 2014, Angelo Salvador Afable Beltran was seen taking videos of a woman’s legs with his mobile phone on the platform at Jurong East MRT Station, Lianhe Zaobao reports. He was caught by a 35-year-old man, who told station control.
The MRT staff called the police, who found some upskirt videos on Beltran’s mobile phone. The police arrested the Filipino, an employee of consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble International Operations SA Singapore Branch, and later found 41 obscene films on his computer, at his home in Upper Bukit Timah.
Beltran, who started working in Singapore in August 2011, was accused of having taken upskirt videos at a mobile phone shop, a bus stop, a book store and on an MRT train in 2014, The Straits Times reports. One of the victims was his colleague. After he was arrested and lost his job, his wife and three children returned to the Philippines.
Last October, Woo Poh Liang, a former staff sergeant, was jailed and fined S$20,000 for having taken a bribe from Beltran to escape the charges against him.
On April 10, a 36-year-old Filipino engineer, Jan Benedict Mendoza Fuellas, was jailed for four months for trying to take footage up the skirt of a woman at an MRT station and being in possession of 38 similar videos.

Where did he place his intelligence a an engineer? Why did he make his family suffer to receive such humiliation in a foreign country? I jus t unable to understand his actions when all he has in Singapore was staying with his family and no reason he is lonely.
