Korea’s KBS World Radio reports that Lotte’s Chinese website has been reopened following its closure several months ago in apparent retaliation to South Korea’s deployment of the THAAD missile defense system.

The return of the site after South Korea’s new president has made moves to patch up relations with Beijing sending a special envoy, Lee Hae-chan on Thursday to meet with Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi.

Though it is a positive sign, some Lotte stores in China remain closed and damage done to Korean brands inside China will take time to repair.
