Delivery service giant Yamato Transport and e-tailer DeNA are testing a home delivery service that uses driverless cars in Japan. The joint project, called “Roboneko Yamato” (Robot Cat Yamato), will last one year using electric cars equipped with storage boxes. But like similar experiments in the US, human operators will tag along in the vehicles to make sure nothing goes wrong.
