Police are searching for a suspect who carried out a surprise blitz attack on five people within a 90-second period in Wan Chai on Hong Kong Island on Saturday.
The suspect, who wore a black top and dark pants, either pushed or hit the four women and a man on Saturday.
At 5:16pm, the suspect hit a foreign woman on her head at a bus stop on 182 Queen’s Road East, Metro Daily reported, citing a car camera’s video footage uploaded on social media. The woman was pushed onto the road.
As he ran along Queen’s Road East, the attacker punched a male pedestrian on Amoy Street, hit a woman on her shoulder on Spring Garden Lane and smacked another woman carrying a suitcase on her head outside the DBS branch at Jonsim Place.
A woman surnamed So, who saw the video, told Apple Daily that she had been slapped on her right hand by the same man, aged between 30 and 40, at 4pm on the same day on Queen’s Road East.
A local resident surnamed Chan said she was worried that the man, who might be mentally ill, would escalate his attack with more violence next time, Sing Tao reported.
Witnesses can contact the police by calling 3661 7568 or 3660 7411.
