A Chinese state-run newspaper said Saturday that China would not engage militarily if the US conducted a surgical strike on North Korea’s nuclear facility, noting it would only resort to diplomatic channels to oppose such a move.
Beijing’s position was stated in an editorial in the state-run Global Times, a tabloid controlled by China’s Communist Party.
“If Pyongyang’s unwavering pursuit of its nuclear program continues and Washington launches a military attack on North Korea’s nuclear facilities as a result, Beijing should oppose the move by diplomatic channels, rather than get involved through military action,” Joongang Daily translated the editorial as saying.

An American attack on North Korea’s nuclear facilities would be illegal and a massive violation of international law.
It would be almost on-par with the United Staes launching an illegal invasion of Iraq, a country that had never attacked America, that posed no ‘threat’ to its neighbors or to America, that had nothing to do with 9/11, that was not friendly or sympathetic to al-Qaeda, and that wass largely in compliance with its UN agreements.

Because, if the U.S. strikes North Korea, North Korea’s first target for a retaliatory strike will be .. South Korea. Its capitol is just 35 miles away from the North Korea – South Korea border. Well within range of North Korean artillery guns at the border. Of which, there are THOUSANDS.
That’s why the South Koreans are rotally pissed – NOT at North Korea, but at TRUMP.
Because, if the U.S. militarily attacks North Kora’s nuclear program, it won’t be Americans who die by the thousands as a result of North Korea’s direct response – it’ll be SOUTH KOREANS who do the dying.

If you don’t want North Korea to USE those nuclear weapons they’ve developed….
… don’t back them into a corner, or do anything that would cause them to feel that tehy have no other choice.
I think it means that China wants North Korea as a tradeoff. This would mean the west/ROK would then have China occupied DPRK as a next door neighbor. Which isn’t perfect by any means but perhaps far better than the alternative. All China really wants is economic goodies. You can actually talk with them and make deals. Unlike the DPRK which is just like ‘RARRR KILL! KILL! KILL!’.

North Korea does have the capability to bomb cities and US bases in South Korea and Japan. Things may escalate really fast after a US strike. Why did Chinese president Xi tell the parties to avoid escalation a few days ago?
I suspect the US will conduct a surgical attack to N. Korea nuclear facilities,and it has nothing to do with Trump neither Obama. This attack has been planned many years ago, and I just hope nothing fails, and we don’t get to see millions of people dead on any side. I hope no one uses nuclear power.
