A filipina maid, 22, suffered injuries to her feet after an argument erupted when she and her employer’s 15-year-old daughter refused to open the security gate of their Ho Man Tin apartment to a mainland woman late at night.

At 10pm on Monday, the 26-year-old woman from Hubei province arrived at the apartment in Oriental Gardens on Prince Edward Road, Kowloon, and had planned to ask for a living allowance from the married Hong Kong man living there, Oriental Daily reported, citing police sources. She brought a 4-year-old boy she said was their son, together with the child’s Hong Kong birth certificate, the paper said.

After the maid and the daughter refused her entrance, the woman allegedly took out a length of plastic pipe and struck out at the security gate, Sing Tao Daily reported. During the fracas, the maid received minor injuries to her feet and was later sent to hospital, while the boy’s birth certificate was torn up.

The police arrested the man’s daughter on suspicion of criminal damage over the birth certificate and the mainland woman over the injuries received by the maid. The married man was not at home during the incident. According to media reports, the mainland woman had been paid HK$2 million (US$255,000) to end their relationship.
