Vietnamnet reported that Japanese investments through the first two months of this year reached US$297 million, according to figures from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). The investments comes as Vietnamese consumers are increasingly interested in clean food products. JETRO expects that Japanese investment in manufacturing will slow in favor of processed foods and other consumer products.

Japanese Investors have committed almost US$300 million to interests in Vietnam year-to-date.
