A 27-year-old Hong Kong cook was jailed for four years in the High Court on Thursday after he was found guilty of attempted rape in a Yau Ma Tei alley 2015.

On August 22, 2015, cook Leung Chun-kit drank seven bottles of beer in a Tsim Sha Tsui bar and followed a 23-year-old woman when she left work, HK01.com reported. He attempted to rape the woman in an alley off Chi Wo Street in Yau Ma Tei, but he failed because he was distracted by her compliments about his muscular physique.

Judge Louis Tong Po-sun said the victim experienced pain and fear after Leungs attack. However, Tong reduced the term of the sentence, which should have been six-and-a-half years, because Leung was a hard-working member of the community.
