The office of French President Francois Hollande said Wednesday that Indonesia has signed a letter of intent to buy the Airbus A400M military aircraft, a boost to the program which has run into billions of euros of cost overruns, reports Reuters.

During President Hollande’s visit to Indonesia on Wednesday, France also pledged US$2.6 billion in investments for the country.

The visit is the last of Hollande’s Southeast Asian tour, which included visits to Singapore and Malaysia.
