When trying to describe Paris, we often evoke iconic views of the Eiffel Tower, lights twinkling along the Seine River, and lovers famously clasping locks on to bridges. One thinks of romantic dinners, shopping along the Champs-Elysée, and tasty treats at picturesque cafes. Since Fall 2016, visitors to Asia’s premier entertainment destination are finding all things Paris much closer to home. The Parisian Macao, is the latest addition to Sands China Ltd. integrated resorts on the Macao Cotai Strip. The Parisian Macao adds approximately 3,000 new hotel rooms, restaurants, swimming pools, spa, shopping and family recreation options. And while Paris, France was built over many centuries, The Parisian Macao’s Eiffel Tower was completed on October 15, 2015 with the intent of bringing guests an authentic Parisian experience closer to home and with modern every convenience.
Creating destination integrated resorts isn’t a new concept; Las Vegas has its Venetian, Paris, and New York. But what makes The Parisian Macao stand apart is its detailed artistry and massive scale. A replica Eiffel Tower stands in front of the hotel, dominating the Macao cityscape. Creating the half-scale, 38-storey tower in The Parisian Macao required more than 4,500 design drawings, over 2,800 tons of steel, and 853,000 decorative rivets all built over the course of 1 year. Every possible detail was considered when recreating the tower including observation decks and a restaurant overlooking the Cotai Strip, complete with a spectacular nightly light show.
With romantic Paris in mind, the tower was only the beginning. From the moment one steps inside The Parisian Macao’s grand lobby, guests are overwhelmed by the spectacular French-themed architecture and decor. Once visitors enter through the majestic gilded doors inspired by the Palais Garnier, the stunning gleaming dome in the Rotunda provides the perfect backdrop for photographs. The design of the gilded dome was fashioned after one of France’s most exquisite domes – L’Hotel National des Invalides in the 7th Arrondissement of Paris. Flanked by grand promenades of French limestone, marble and tromp l’oeil ceilings, the Rotunda and its sparkling bronze and gilded ‘Fontaine de Mers’ fountain form the heart of The Parisian Macao.
Every aspect of design and detail for The Parisian Macao was created to evoke the spirit of an authentic Parisian experience. Guests shop along an area designed to resemble the famous Champs-Elysée, replete with luxury brands and boutiques. They dine in world-class bistros and cafes and are afforded the time for people-watching, meeting new friends, or catching up with old friends and family. Inside the hotel the architecture and decor mimics the grandest Parisian buildings. The hotel is decadent and evocative: no expense was spared when trying to bring all things Parisian to the Pearl River Delta in Macao. The Parisian Macao includes 11 dining options, a 3,400 square meter grand ballroom with eight meter high ceilings, and even a 1,200-seat auditorium for live music and the performing arts. Of particular note is the restaurant La Chine. La Chine offers guests a combination of regional Chinese favorites with impeccable French service inside The Parisian Macao Eiffel Tower itself.
You can see and do almost anything at The Parisian Macao you could do in Paris, and maybe more! Unlike the city in France, The Parisian Macao offers guest the option of reserving the entire observation deck of the Eiffel Tower for private events – allowing visitors to truly take advantage of all Macao has to offer. And if one is so inclined, it’s more than possible to see Paris and Venice in one afternoon, as The Venetian Macao is part of the Sands Resorts Macao complex and is just a short walk away. Come visit Paris close to home – come to The Parisian Macao.
