China holds a trump card that may discourage Donald Trump from instigating any kind of trade war with the world’s second largest economy: it’s near-monopoly in rare earth minerals, a key component in everything from iPhones to missile guidance systems. According to Allan von Mehren, chief analyst at Danske Bank: “If China was to stop exporting this it would be a big problem for the US, at least in the short term.”

French naval group DCNS plans to provide the Indian Navy with three more diesel-electric Scorpene class submarines that would be built entirely in Mumbai.
