Hong Kong’s former Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam- kuen is to face a fresh charge related to his failure to disclose the acceptance of a luxury penthouse in Shenzhen when he was in office, according to media reports.
At a pre-trial review hearing on Tuesday, the High Court approved a prosecution request for the new charge under the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance that alleges Tsang accepted an advantage in the form of the refurbishment and redecoration of the three-story apartment carried out by a company partly-owned by Shenzhen businessman Bill Wong Chor-bau.
Tsang already faces two charges the stem from alleged advantages received when DBC, a broadcaster owned by Wong, was applying for a digital radio licence in Hong Kong at the time.
