“Descendants of the Sun” star Song Joong-ki is not in the news but still the South Korean actor continues to be the most-popular Hallyu star on Google search.

A Google Trends analysis of the past week shows that Song Joong-ki is way above the “Bounty Hunters” star in terms of Search volume.

However, Lee Min-ho is a cut above Song Hye-kyo and Park Shin-hye.

Interestingly, actor Lee Jong-suk of the “W” drama that’s currently ruling the Wednesday-Thursday time-slot has piped Lee Min-ho, thanks to the popularity of the drama. But Jong-suk remains below Song Joong-ki. Earlier this year after the “Descendants of the Sun” ended, Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo were the most popular actors in South Korea, thanks to its stupendous success and the “KiKyo” rumors.

Half a year after the drama ended, Song Joong-ki still remains the most-searched Korean actor worldwide.

As the “W” drama nears its end, its twisted plot and the lead actors’ charm are captivating the audience. It is now ruling K-drama with double-digit viewership.

Song Joong-ki rules Asia with most of his search coming from the Philippines and Myanmar. Lee Jong-suk was most-searched in Taiwan and Malaysia. Lee Min-ho was most-searched in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
