Shikoku Railway Co. (JR Shikoku), which operates intercity rail services in the four prefectures of Shikoku island, is offering train buffs the opportunity to drive the Tetsudo Hobby Train, a tourist attraction that runs on the Yodo Line.
The hobby train is modeled after the “0 Series,” the first bullet train car that was used in Japan’s Shinkansen system.
Those aged 15 and above are eligible for the tour, with the exception of junior high school students. Participants will be selected by lottery if the number of applications exceeds the capacity of 28.
Applications must be received before 10 a.m. on Aug. 10. Read more
