Xiaomi has just launched its Mi Max smartphone in India for Rs14,999 ($222). Its screen is a massive 6.44-incher but it is being flaunted as a smartphone—not tablet! Xiaomi claims it’s the biggest.
Xiaomi is the second Chinese smartphone brand in the country to launch an over-six-inch device. In April, Lenovo launched its Lenovo Phab smartphone with 6.9-inch display at Rs11,999 ($178).
It looks and feels like a phone and not a tablet. Making calls using this bulky phone was comfortable. What more? It has an all-metal body.

Like the Redmi Note 3, this one has a fingerprint scanner at the back. Mi Max’s IPS LCD display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is a Full HD 1080p display with a pixel density of 342ppi. It has a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC and runs Android 6.0.1 operating system. Xiaomi Mi Max will go on its first flash sale on July 6 on Mi.com. Registrations for the sale has already started.
