“The Dark Tower,” the film adaptation of Stephen King’s namesake novel, will have Korean actress Claudia Kim, better known as Soo-hyun, play the female lead.
This action-fantasy flick depicts the journey of a gunman named Roland Deschain to save his decaying world by reaching a tower that stands at the nexus point in time and space.
According to the Eco Global Group, Soo-hyun will assume the role of Arra Champignon while Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey will play the roles of Roland Deschain and The Man In Black, respectively, Yonhap reported.
Well, but “The Dark Tower”will not mark her Hollywood debut as she has starred in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015), playing Dr. Helen Cho, a world-renowned geneticist mind-controlled by Ultron to build Vision.
Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, “The Dark Tower” is set to hit North American theaters in February.
Apart from the “Avengers” movie, she has also acted in “Marco Polo.”
Her agency announced that she will be acting opposite hot names like Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba as the main female protagonist, AllKpop reported.
It’s keeping her busy! Just 23 hours after filming for Korean drama “Monster,” she boarded a plane to go to Cape Town in South Africa for filming the new movie.
She said on her SNS, “I’m finally able to tell you this news officially. Thank you for always supporting me.”
