One Japanese Twitter user was alarmed when he came across a strange sight on a local thoroughfare during a recent afternoon. At first, he was concerned to see several police officers on the street. But he was pleasantly surprised after getting closer to see what they were doing.
They were busy guiding a mother duck and her ducklings safely across the street!
Three officers were bending down to the ground and tapping it with their batons, softly calling to the duck family in Japanese: “Kocchi da yo. (This way)” and “Socchi wa dame days (Not that way).”
