Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-kyo add fuel to ‘KiKyo’ fire

When “Descendants of the Sun” stars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo came hand-in-hand to attend the recent Baeksang awards ceremony, their fans wondered if the ‘KiKyo’ rumor was real. Whether it was wishful thinking or just media speculation that the so-called ‘Song-Song’ couple were secretly dating, it ran rife. Now, adding fuel to the ‘KiKyo’ fire, it has been announced that the two stars will reunite at a fan meeting in China on June 17. Actress Song Hye-kyo will appear as a special guest at actor Song Joong-ki’s fan meeting in Chengdu, the capital of China’s Sichuan Province, Yonhap reported.

Korean super-hit drama “Descendants of the Sun” brought the stars together and helped them gain Asian fame. It made them the most-popular stars in South Korea. It fetched them magazine covers, awards, tops slots in popularity charts and high-profile endorsement deals.

Along with them, huge fan following and wishes (or some may term it the media prophesy) that the two stars will develop a relationship in the real world as well. As the stars exhibited fondness for each other at several occasions and exchanged romantic gestures at several events, it was widely rumored that they were in a relationship.
