The question that which will be next “Descendants of the Sun” just got deeper as the upcoming K-drama “Uncontrollably Fond” is making waves just as the recently-released “Doctors” serial.
“Doctors” starring Park Shin-hye and Kim Rae-wom premiered last Monday and topped the viewership charts. Meanwhile, “Uncontrollably Fond” that is set for a July 6 launch is creating much anticipation. Whether these serials will reach “Descendants of the Sun” glory is a million-dollar question.
“Uncontrollably Fond” is releasing teaser after teaser and adorable picture promos of the lead cast to woo viewers. Photos of Kim Woo-bin and Bae Suzy are doing the rounds. In one “Uncontrollably Fond” poster, Suzy sits on Woo-bin and plays with his tie. Love is in their eyes.
In the highly-anticipated K-drama, Shin Joon-young (Kim Woo-bin) stars as a mega-star actor, while Noeul (Bae Suzy) is his hardcore fan. After a harsh break-up, they meet again and the story unfolds.
“Doctors” is a medical-themed romantic drama, while the super-hit “Descendants of the Sun” was a romance between a doctor (Song Hye-kyo) and a military man (Song Joong-ki).
“Doctors” had an explosive start last Monday grabbing 12.9 percent in viewership ratings nationwide. It recorded 14.2 percent the next day. This week’s numbers will be released soon.
But will they beat “Descendants of the Sun” success? Wait and watch.
