Try this limited edition Ottotto ice cream. It tastes exactly like those lightly-seasoned fried potato puffs that had been a convenience store mainstay for the past 35 years or so.
Convenience store chain Family Mart and major food producer Morinaga have teamed up to give a classic Japanese snack the frozen milky treatment.

Ottotto has been a popular potato cracker. Now, its taste has the form of an ice cream. It is white and smooth but carries that same salty potato flavor of the famous Ottotto.

The lid of the ice cream playfully mentions that there aren’t actually Ottotto crackers inside.

The ice cream is available at Family Mart locations across Japan for 140 yen (US$1.29) each.
