Over 6,000 tourists will come together to enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery and beautiful beaches of Bali this week.

Tourists from nearly 75 countries will take part in the four-day Bali Interhash 2016, a biennial international sports and recreation event, which begins on Thursday. Natives too will participate in this mega fest.

Those participating in Interhash will trek through the rivers and hills while enjoying the panoramic views in the districts of Tabanan, Badung, Gianjar, Bangli, and Denpasar.

This isn’t the first time Indonesia is hosting Interhash. The earlier ones were held in Jakarta in 1982, Bali in1988, and Magelang in Central Java in 2012.

Over 4 million foreigners visited Bali in 2015, slightly higher when compared to the number in 2014. Indonesia is now aiming to make Bali a hub for medical tourism.
