They are called Boys Generally Asian, in short BgA, and describe themselves as “five guys who can’t sing, dance or really speak Korean”. And, their Dong Saya Dae (I have to take a shi*t, in Korean) is described as the funniest K-pop debut ever!
Here’s the funny five: YouTuber Ryan Higa, musician David Choi, filmmaker Philip Wang, actor Justin Chon and musician Jun Sung Ahn. Each member of the group has taken on a new identity. Higa is ROP, who was “discovered at Chipotle” while Wang is P-Dragon, who is supposedly making his debut “after 25 years of training.” Choi will be known as Daeyang, a “rejected girl-group member,” while Jun Sung Ahn will be Jeungri, an “aspiring YouTuber, actual K-pop star.” Choi, on the other hand, will be J-Lite, a talent “banned from variety shows,” Manila Bulletin reported.
Dong Saya Dae recorded over a million views on the day it was posted on YouTube. Now, the count has crossed three million.
On Friday, BgA officially debuted with its music video release and posted a dance version of it the next day, which has also garnered 300 thousand hits. BgA has also posted a behind-the-scenes video. Will it go viral like Psy’s Gangnam Style? Wait and watch!
