Yes, caro Francesco, it is all very dangerous.  I think the best context in which to analyze this is Obama’s desire for a strategic detente with Iran.  He has been negotiating with them through more or less secret channels since 2008, and there is a pattern:  he does not do anything likely to upset Khamenei.

Step Two:  this means that Obama is very reluctant to do anything that would endanger Assad (Khamenei’s closest ally in the region).  We rarely bomb Assad’s allied jihadis, and we get especially active in support of Iranian or Syrian proxies.  Note that Assad rarely attacks ISIS.  At the moment we may be preparing to serve as Iran’s air force around Ramadi.  Let’s see.  In the past few days military officials here have complained bitterly, furiously, that they knew the IS assault on Ramadi was happening, and they could have stopped it, but the White House said no.

My guess is that there is coordination with Suleimani, but that’s a guess.

Terribly dangerous.  Obama wants Iran as an ally, but Iran wants America destroyed…as does IS.  We could do (very bad) movie…
