South Korean President Moon Jae-in named Air Force Gen. Jeong Kyeong-doo as chairman of the military’s Joint Chiefs of Staff in a major reshuffle aimed at breaking the army’s decades-long hold on the military, Korea JoongAng Daily reported.
Moon’s reshuffle of the country’s top brass was approved at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday. The newspaper says Moon replaced seven of the military’s eight four-star generals.
