A Filipino tourist was killed and five others were injured when they were struck by lightning in Siargao, Philippines.

On Saturday afternoon, Lee Christian Zamora and his friends were visiting Naked Island.

According to Grace Tolibas, one of those injured, they were heading to their boat to leave the island as it started to rain, but then lightning struck and killed Zamora, who did not suffer any external injuries and may have died due to cardiac arrest.

“The one that got hit lost his pulse and turned purple and died instantly, several others suffered neck burns. It was traumatizing,” Tolibas said.

The victims were taken to Siargao District Hospital, where Zamora was declared dead on arrival, ABS-CBN News reported.
