Authorities in Indonesia found 35 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine concealed inside a truck carrying cabbages in west Java on Saturday.
Officers from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) intercepted the truck carrying the drugs from near Aceh in the west of Sumatra Island once it reached Java, en route to the capital Jakarta, The Jakarta Post reported.
They said the vehicle was stopped in Cilegon in Banten on May 25 and three suspects named Muazir, Riski and Ridwan were arrested.
Arman Depari of the BNN said they were given a tip-off that a shipment of crystal meth would be taken to Jakarta via a truck from Medan city in northern Sumatra.
A yellow and blue Colt Diesel truck with the plate number BK 9434 EN was intercepted on Jalan Raya Jakarta-Merak, and 35 bags of crystal meth were found hidden among heaps of cabbage.
Muazir, the driver, was labeled as a suspect. He confessed that the drugs were given by Riski, who had received an order from Ridwan.
The authorities then arrested Ridwan and Riski. Their houses were also searched and cars, motorbikes, plus 268 million rupiah in cash (US$18,617) and other items were seized.
The truck and the drugs were hauled to the BNN headquarters in Cawang in East Jakarta.
