A video went viral on social media showing three members of a family being hit by a vehicle on Garden Road in Central on Hong Kong Island on Sunday.
The 35-second video from a dashboard camera showed a man, a woman and a young girl jaywalking at 5:42pm, Sing Tao Daily reported.
The family were crossing three lanes of the road when a white car heading to Central came down a slope. The 60-year-old driver tried to avoid hitting the three people by steering the car slightly to the right but unfortunately, it still knocked them down.
The man grabbed a suitcase he had been carrying before helping the girl stand up, while the woman was lying injured on the road.
According to police, the woman, 47, and the 11-year-old girl were injured and both were sent to hospital.
Netizens slammed the couple for their selfish behavior as they had not only put themselves and the girl in danger but had also endangered motorists.

Luckily no cars coming behind????
They were so brave to hit the car ????
?
What? The guy should still have seen them and avoided them. Look how late he hits the brakes.
tried to commit suicide but not yet their time, it’s their fault anyway, no one’s to blame!
why they put themselves in danger!!omg..
Such a lesson!!! Risk must be advanced
Reward for jaywalkers
Not the drivers fault
