An Indian man and his Filipino girlfriend were arrested on April 2 for kissing in public in Jabriya, Kuwait, and will be deported. A witness saw the couple kissing and notified the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry, Arab Times reported.
The couple were arrested on charges of indecent behavior in public and will be detained until their deportation.
Under the Kuwait Penal Law, the maximum penalty for committing indecent acts in public is one year in jail and a fine of 1,000 dinars (US$3,327). Non-residents face arrest, imprisonment or deportation.
