The remains of Joanna Demafelis, whose body was found in a freezer in Kuwait, will be brought home to the Philippines on Friday.
On Wednesday, Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Rene Villa went to Al-Sabah Hospital to view Demafelis’ body as part of the preparations for repatriation, ABS-CBN News reported.
Villa said the body would arrive in Manila at 11am on Friday. He also said the Ministry of Interior in Kuwait was hunting for a Lebanese man and his Syrian wife who are suspected of killing Demafelis.
An autopsy report found that Demafelis died because of severe beatings, allegedly by her employers. She had several broken ribs and suffered from internal bleeding, GMA News reported.
She also suffered contusions and trauma in her pelvic and kidney area, evidently caused by regular beatings.
