In a gesture of cross-border goodwill, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said on Tuesday that New Delhi would grant a medical visa for a newborn Pakistani baby suffering from a cardiac ailment, according to media reports.

Rohaan’s mother Mehwish Mukhtar sought help from the Indian government, tweeting: “When I hug my child, he smiles. He knows he is safe with me. I want to save him, I really do. Help in visa #HelpBabyRohaan @SushmaSwaraj.”
In an Independence Day (August 15) tweet, Sushma said: “On the auspicious occasion of India’s Independence day, we will grant medical visa in all bonafide cases pending with us.”
