China upped the ante in the Doklam standoff on Tuesday, calling India’s claim that Chinese road construction on the border posed a threat to New Delhi “ridiculous and vicious,” according to media reports.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry observed that there would be “utter chaos” if its troops entered India on the pretext that Indian border infrastructure posed a threat to Beijing.
Tensions have been high on the India-China border since the Indian army stopped Chinese troops from constructing roads in the Doklam area of the Sikkim sector.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said China would not allow any country or individual to infringe on its territorial sovereignty, IANS reported. “The Indian side illegally crossed the boundary on the excuse of … Chinese road-building. The reason is ridiculous, vicious and facts are clear,” said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying.
“You may think about it. If we tolerate India’s ridiculous logic, then anyone who dislikes the activity at his neighbor’s home can break into its neighbor’s house. Does that mean when China thinks that large-scale construction of infrastructure at the border area of India is posing a threat, it can enter Indian territory? Wouldn’t that be utter chaos?”
Asia Times reported on Monday Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s statements regarding the ongoing standoff. He said it can be resolved diplomatically because New Delhi wants “peace, not any confrontation.”
Replying to Singh’s statements, Hua responded: “China loves peace and firmly upholds peace. At the same time, we will safeguard our territorial integrity and sovereignty. We allow no country or any individual to infringe upon China’s territorial sovereignty.”

Your geography is a bit askew…Iran is nowhere near India, and whatever infrasturucture India is developing in Iran is at Irans behest….
But its not Chinese land is it? Its Bhutans…..
China had agreed with India that while the question of border demarcation discussed by special envoys from both sides, the status quo will be maintained. Unfortunately the Chinese have occasional fits of amnesia during which they fail to recognize the line of actual control (LAC) which is not meant to be crossed by either party. They developed a new set of tactics by sending troops to the Doklam plateau which is Bhutanese territory with bull-dozers to build a road. India is bound by a treaty with Bhutan to defend the latter against aggression and accordingly Indian troops were sent to evict the Chinese squatters. China badly miscalculated the Indian response. At the same time, Chinese troops have been entering Indian territory in the Western sector, again contrary to agreements reached. It is one of the dangers and deficiencies of authoritarian governments that they will never admit that they are in the wrong, ever, no matter what the hard facts are. Under the circumstances, Indian troops have prevented further instrusions, which are resented by the PRC. Not a single shot has been fired in anger across the boundaries. At the moment there is shrill rhetoric and despicable racist videos put out by Chinese propaganda, along with threats and demonstrations of fire-power by the PLA to create ‘awe’ among Indian troops. Whatever they do, India is not impressed because it has the resources to check any plans the Chinese might attempt to push through. A nuclear exchange is unthinkable.
True! True! True! India is building infrastructure near its border that are threats to China, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladeh, Iran, Pakistan, etc. I am merely repeating India’s arguments.
