A domestic worker was slammed online by people in Hong Kong for her unhygienic care on the child she was looking after.
Janette Chow posted a photo on a Facebook group named “Fanling” on Tuesday showing a domestic worker putting her bare foot on a baby in a stroller in a park in Fanling in the New Territories, Headline Daily reported.
Chow said she saw the photo on a WhatsApp group and decided to upload it on Facebook, hoping the neighbors would help identify the employer and inform them how unhygienic their domestic worker was.
Joan Tsui Hiu-tung, convenor of the Support Group for Hong Kong Employers, said the employer could issue a warning letter to the maid. She also suggested the employer show the photo to her worker and let her know there are many people outside monitoring domestic workers’ performances, especially those taking care of young children.
