Following a land-swap agreement between Korean conglomerate Lotte and the South Korean government that would support the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system, Chinese state-owned Global Times called for consumers to make Lotte pay a price with their wallets. It now looks like hackers have joined the party as the Korea Herald reported that Lotte’s Chinese website has been taken down by suspected Chinese hackers.
China to Korean businesses: oppose THAAD or else
Korean conglomerate Lotte claimed Wednesday their Chinese website was taken down by hackers in response to a land-swap deal for the THAAD missile system.
